Job Overview

This position involves conducting safety inspections of aircraft, airports, and aviation operations to ensure compliance with national and international regulations. The Aviation Safety Inspector will collaborate with airlines, maintenance providers, and airport authorities to enforce safety protocols and mitigate risks in Tanzania’s expanding aviation network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and surprise inspections of aircraft, maintenance facilities, and airport operations.
  • Evaluate compliance with ICAO and TCAA safety regulations.
  • Investigate aviation incidents and prepare detailed reports with corrective action recommendations.
  • Provide technical guidance to aviation stakeholders on safety best practices.
  • Participate in the development and revision of aviation safety policies.
  • Collaborate with international aviation bodies on cross-border safety initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in aviation safety regulations and inspection methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in using aviation safety software and data analysis tools.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Safety, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline. A master’s degree in Aviation Management or Safety Science is a plus.

Experience

Minimum of 3–5 years in aviation safety inspection, regulatory compliance, or a similar role. Experience in East African aviation operations is preferred.

Salary

2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
