Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy precision agriculture systems using GIS and remote sensing technologies
- Analyze crop health data to recommend tailored farming strategies
- Train farmers on digital tools for soil monitoring and irrigation optimization
- Collaborate with agronomists to integrate climate-smart practices into local farming
- Conduct field trials to evaluate the impact of precision technologies on yield and sustainability
Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and agricultural data platforms
- Experience with IoT devices for environmental monitoring
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting agronomic datasets
- Fluency in Swahili and English for stakeholder communication
- Knowledge of Tanzanian agricultural policies and farming challenges
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Geospatial Technology, or related field. Advanced certifications in precision agriculture or agricultural AI are advantageous.
Experience
3-5 years in agricultural technology, preferably with projects in sub-Saharan Africa. Experience in both field operations and data analysis is required.
Salary
4,000,000 – 5,500,000 SSP annually, with performance-based bonuses.
