Job Overview
This role involves designing and implementing smart farming systems that leverage IoT, data analytics, and automation to enhance crop yields and resource efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy smart irrigation and soil monitoring systems using IoT sensors.
- Collaborate with farmers to integrate precision agriculture tools into existing workflows.
- Analyze agricultural data to optimize crop management and reduce environmental impact.
- Design training programs for local stakeholders on the use of digital farming technologies.
- Partner with NGOs and government agencies to scale sustainable agricultural practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in agricultural technology platforms and software (e.g., FarmBeats, Ag Leader).
- Experience with IoT device integration and data visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of sustainable farming practices and climate-smart agriculture.
- Excellent problem-solving and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Ability to work in remote rural environments with limited infrastructure.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Advanced degree (Master’s preferred) in Agricultural Technology or Data Science.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in agricultural technology development or implementation.
- Proven track record in designing smart farming solutions for smallholder farmers.
Salary
3,000,000 – 4,500,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
