Work & Experience
Am working as a Site Technician at Vodacom Data Centers performing various duties including; • Maintaining 99.99% power and cooling availability by managing UPS, Rectifiers, generators, and DX and Split units). • Assisted in the installation and commissioning of Power Factor Correction (PFC) panels, successfully improving system power factor from 0.7 to a target unity power factor to optimize energy efficiency and save energy cost by compensating reactive power. • Managing end-to-end safety via Permits to Work (PTW) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). These protocols identified hazards and implemented effective mitigation strategies for all maintenance tasks. • Assisting in comprehensive Scheduled maintenance on a 2 MVA diesel generators, including engine oil, filters and coolant replacements, ensuring optimal engine performance hence power reliability. • Performing earthing system measurements using Earth ground clamp meter to ensure compliance with grounding standards and equipment protection.
