Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Livestock Production Specialist to join our team in Njombe, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing sustainable livestock production systems that promote food security, improve livelihoods, and protect the environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal science, livestock production, and sustainable agriculture. They will be able to work effectively with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote the adoption of sustainable livestock production practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement sustainable livestock production systems that promote food security, improve livelihoods, and protect the environment
- Work with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote the adoption of sustainable livestock production practices
- Conduct research and analysis to identify best practices in sustainable livestock production and develop strategies for their implementation
- Develop and implement training programs for farmers and other stakeholders on sustainable livestock production practices
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of sustainable livestock production systems on food security, livelihoods, and the environment
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Animal Science or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in sustainable livestock production, animal science, or related field
- Strong background in sustainable agriculture, animal nutrition, and livestock production
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field
Experience
