We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Consultant to join our team in Singida, Tanzania.
Job Overview
The Environmental Sustainability Consultant will play a key role in our efforts to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation in Tanzania. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and sustainability, as well as experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
The consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing projects that promote sustainable land use, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and protect Tanzania’s natural resources.
The consultant will also work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to build support for our projects and to ensure that they are effective and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement projects that promote sustainable land use, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and protect Tanzania’s natural resources.
- Work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to build support for our projects and to ensure that they are effective and sustainable.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for sustainable development and environmental conservation in Tanzania.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainable agriculture, reduce deforestation, and protect Tanzania’s natural resources.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of our projects and make recommendations for improvement.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in environmental sustainability, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong background in environmental science and sustainability, including knowledge of sustainable land use, climate change, and biodiversity conservation.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a related field is an added advantage.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in environmental sustainability, project management, and stakeholder engagement. Experience working in Tanzania or in a similar context is highly desirable.
Salary
The salary for this position is 250,000 – 350,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
