Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Geophysicist to join our Exploration team in Tanga, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading geophysical surveys and interpreting data to identify potential oil and gas reserves.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geophysics and experience in leading teams in the field. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead geophysical surveys and interpret data to identify potential oil and gas reserves

Develop and implement geophysical exploration strategies to meet business objectives

Collaborate with other teams to integrate geophysical data with geological and geochemical data

Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members

Required Skills

Strong background in geophysics, with a focus on seismic data acquisition and interpretation

Experience in leading teams in the field, with excellent communication and project management skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or related field from a recognized university

Experience

8-12 years of experience in geophysical exploration, with a focus on seismic data acquisition and interpretation

Salary

8,000,000 – 12,000,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience
