Job Overview
The Sustainability Compliance Analyst will play a pivotal role in monitoring, reporting, and improving the company’s environmental performance across all production sites in Tanzania. Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, the analyst will assess compliance with local and international regulations, conduct internal audits, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed sustainable practices into daily operations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular compliance audits of water usage, waste management, and energy consumption at all manufacturing facilities.
- Prepare detailed sustainability reports in line with Tanzanian environmental regulations and global standards such as ISO 14001.
- Identify gaps in current practices and develop corrective action plans to achieve continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Procurement and Supply Chain teams to ensure suppliers adhere to Coca‑Cola’s sustainability criteria.
- Support the implementation of carbon reduction initiatives, including renewable energy projects and efficiency upgrades.
- Facilitate training sessions for employees on environmental policies, best practices, and reporting procedures.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of local legislation, industry trends, and emerging sustainability technologies to advise senior management.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data collection, interpretation, and presentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Knowledge of Tanzanian environmental laws, ISO standards, and sustainability frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with sustainability reporting software.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Education
The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Advanced certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor are advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience
A minimum of three to five years of experience in environmental compliance, sustainability reporting, or a related field within the manufacturing or beverage sector is required. Prior experience working in Tanzania or other East African markets will be considered a strong asset.
Salary
The role offers a competitive salary range of SSP 1,500,000 to SSP 2,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews are part of the compensation package.
