Job Overview

The Treasury Operations Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing the bank’s daily cash flow, liquidity positioning, and short‑term funding activities. Reporting to the Treasury Manager, the specialist will oversee transaction processing, monitor cash balances across multiple accounts, and ensure accurate reconciliation of all treasury-related activities. Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily cash positioning, fund transfers, and inter‑bank settlements to maintain optimal liquidity levels.
• Monitor and reconcile cash balances, ensuring accuracy across all treasury accounts and platforms.
• Prepare and analyze liquidity reports, cash forecasts, and variance explanations for senior management.
• Support foreign exchange transactions, including spot, forward, and swap contracts, while adhering to compliance standards.
• Coordinate with the Risk Management team to assess and mitigate treasury‑related risks.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of treasury policies, procedures, and regulatory filings.
• Assist in the execution of short‑term funding strategies, such as repos and commercial paper issuance.
• Collaborate with the IT department to enhance treasury management systems and automate routine processes.
• Provide timely responses to internal and external audit inquiries related to treasury activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency and reducing processing errors.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of cash management, liquidity analysis, and treasury operations.
• Proficiency in treasury management systems (TMS) and advanced Excel functions.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a detail‑oriented mindset.
• Understanding of Tanzanian banking regulations and Basel III requirements.

Education

Experience

Candidates should possess 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in treasury operations, cash management, or a similar financial role within a reputable banking or corporate environment. Experience with multi‑currency accounts and exposure to the Tanzanian financial market will be highly valued.

Salary
