Job Overview

The Electrical Grid Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of technicians and engineers responsible for the upkeep, inspection, and repair of high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and distribution networks in the Mbeya region. This role ensures that the electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with national standards. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and supervise routine and emergency maintenance activities for transmission and distribution assets.
• Conduct field inspections to assess the condition of lines, poles, transformers, and substations, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Lead outage response teams, ensuring rapid restoration of service while maintaining safety protocols.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Department to implement upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as system reliability, mean time to repair (MTTR), and maintenance cost efficiency.
• Prepare detailed reports for senior management on maintenance activities, asset health, and risk assessments.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, protective relaying, and grid operation standards.
• Proficiency in using maintenance management software and GIS tools for asset tracking.

Education
