Job Overview

The Data Privacy Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the bank’s data privacy framework, ensuring compliance with Tanzanian data protection laws and international standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce data privacy policies and procedures aligned with local regulations.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments for new projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor and audit data handling practices across all departments.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on data protection best practices.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities on privacy matters.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian Data Protection Act and GDPR.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in privacy management tools and software.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal texts and translate them into actionable policies.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CIPP/T, CIPM, or CISA are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or legal advisory roles within the banking or financial services sector.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
