I’m development professional with extensive experience in public sector leadership, project coordination, education, and sustainable Blue Economy development. I worked across government, academia, and development initiatives, leading multi-stakeholder programs that promote marine resource management, community empowerment, investment promotion, and environmental sustainability in Zanzibar.

I’m currently serves as a Coordinating Officer in the Ministry of Blue Economy and Fisheries, where I facilitates the implementation of strategic Blue Economy initiatives, coordinates partnerships with national and international organizations, and supports policy implementation, investment promotion, and community-based enterprise development. My work involves collaborating with government institutions, development partners, research organizations, and local communities to advance sustainable economic growth while conserving marine ecosystems.

I holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from the State University of Zanzibar and I have over 18 years of professional experience spanning education, scientific research, project management, and public administration. Prior to my current role, I served as a university tutor and secondary school teacher, building strong expertise in scientific instruction, mentoring, and capacity development.

Throughout my career, I have contributed to the design and implementation of initiatives related to marine spatial planning, coastal resource management, fisheries, aquaculture, community-led entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods. Also I played key roles in preparing investment profiles, coordinating stakeholder engagements, facilitating training programs, and supporting evidence-based decision-making through research and data analysis.

I’m recognized for my strategic leadership, strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and commitment to sustainable development. I’m passionate about advancing innovative solutions that strengthen the Blue Economy, improve community resilience, and promote inclusive economic opportunities while ensuring the long-term conservation of marine and coastal resources.

As a Coordinating Officer at the Ministry of Blue Economy and Fisheries (MoBEF), I coordinate the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Blue Economy programs and projects that promote the sustainable use of marine and coastal resources. I facilitate collaboration among government institutions, development partners, the private sector, research institutions, and local communities to support policy implementation and achieve national development priorities. My responsibilities include coordinating stakeholder engagements, preparing project proposals, work plans, technical reports, and investment profiles; supporting policy and strategic planning processes; organizing workshops, meetings, and capacity-building activities; monitoring project performance and ensuring timely reporting; and providing technical support for initiatives related to fisheries, aquaculture, marine conservation, coastal tourism, and community-based enterprises. I also contribute to research, data collection and analysis, resource mobilization, and the development of evidence-based recommendations that strengthen sustainable Blue Economy development. Through effective coordination, partnership building, and project management, I support the Ministry's mission to enhance economic growth, environmental sustainability, and the livelihoods of coastal communities.
