Job Overview
This role is ideal for a creative professional passionate about multimedia storytelling and broadcasting. The Media Production Specialist will lead the creation of engaging content for TV, radio, and digital platforms, supporting BBC Media Action’s mission to deliver impactful journalism across East Africa. The position requires collaboration with local journalists, producers, and technical teams to develop content that meets international standards while reflecting Tanzanian cultural contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video and audio content for broadcast and online platforms
- Collaborate with editorial teams to develop story concepts aligned with organizational goals
- Coordinate field production logistics, including equipment management and crew coordination
- Ensure compliance with broadcasting regulations and ethical journalism standards
- Provide training and mentorship to local media professionals in production techniques
- Conduct post-production reviews to optimize content for audience engagement
Required Skills
- Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
- Strong understanding of broadcast and digital media workflows
- Excellent storytelling and creative problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of Tanzanian media landscape and cultural sensitivities
- Fluency in Swahili and English
- Experience with multi-camera production and live broadcasting
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Journalism, Communications, or related field. Postgraduate qualifications in Digital Media or Broadcasting are advantageous.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in media production, with a proven track record in broadcast or digital content creation. Experience working in multicultural teams or international media environments is preferred.
Salary
3,000,000 – 4,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
