Job Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sustainable Urban Planner to join our team in Mbeya, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of sustainable urban planning policies and strategies in Tanzania, with a focus on promoting inclusive and resilient urban development.

The Sustainable Urban Planner will work closely with government officials, local authorities, and other stakeholders to identify and address urban planning challenges, and to develop and implement solutions that promote sustainable urban development.

The job will involve:

• Conducting research and analysis on urban planning issues and trends in Tanzania
• Developing and implementing sustainable urban planning policies and strategies
• Providing technical assistance and capacity-building support to government officials and local authorities
• Collaborating with other UN agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners to promote sustainable urban development

Required Skills

Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field from a recognized university.

Experience

8-12 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on sustainable urban development.

Salary
