Job Overview

The Compliance Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Pfizer Tanzania adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies governing pharmaceutical operations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies aligned with Tanzanian drug regulations and international standards.
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments of manufacturing, distribution, and marketing activities.
• Provide guidance and training to business units on regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ethical standards.
• Monitor changes in legislation, assess impact, and update internal procedures accordingly.
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and documentation to the Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority (TFDA) and other relevant bodies.
• Investigate compliance breaches, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate with legal, quality assurance, and R&D teams to integrate compliance considerations into product development.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and generate periodic performance metrics for senior management.

Required Skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Tanzanian pharmaceutical regulations, GMP, and international guidelines (e.g., WHO, ICH).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for drafting policies and delivering training.
• Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional initiatives.
• Proficiency in compliance management software and Microsoft Office suite.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification in regulatory affairs or compliance (e.g., RAC, CCEP) is highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have at least five years of hands‑on experience in regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical sector, preferably with exposure to both local and global regulatory frameworks.

Salary
