We are seeking an experienced Environmental Economist to join our team in Mbeya, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders on environmental and natural resource management issues.
Job Overview
The Environmental Economist will work closely with government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector companies to design and implement sustainable development projects. The job will involve conducting economic analysis, developing policy briefs, and providing technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental economics, with experience in conducting economic analysis and developing policy briefs. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct economic analysis of environmental and natural resource management issues
- Develop policy briefs and reports on environmental and natural resource management issues
- Provide technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders on environmental and natural resource management issues
- Work closely with government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector companies to design and implement sustainable development projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector companies
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Economics or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in environmental economics or related field

Salary
The salary for this position is 1,000,000 – 1,500,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
