Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and correlate threat data from multiple sources, including open‑source intelligence, dark web monitoring, and internal security logs.
  • Develop and maintain threat intelligence reports, briefings, and dashboards tailored to Cisco’s customers in Tanzania.
  • Collaborate with incident response teams to provide contextual threat information during active investigations.
  • Identify emerging attack vectors, malware families, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) relevant to the local threat landscape.
  • Contribute to the creation and enrichment of Cisco’s global threat intelligence feeds and knowledge bases.
  • Engage with industry peers, government agencies, and information sharing groups to exchange threat insights and best practices.
  • Assist in the development of security awareness materials and training sessions for internal staff and client partners.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend enhancements to Cisco’s threat intelligence tools and processes.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with experience in threat hunting, malware analysis, and indicator of compromise (IOC) development.
  • Proficiency with security platforms such as Cisco SecureX, Threat Grid, and SIEM solutions.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and cloud security architectures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for producing clear intelligence reports and briefings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with regional regulatory frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, Tanzania Data Protection Act).

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GCTI, or Cisco’s own CyberOps Associate are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity threat intelligence, threat hunting, or related security analysis roles. Prior experience working within a Security Operations Center (SOC) or with multinational technology firms is preferred. Demonstrated experience in the East African cyber threat environment will be a distinct advantage.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews are part of Cisco’s compensation framework.
