Job Overview

The Agricultural Business Development Manager will lead the expansion of Bayer’s agribusiness portfolio in the northern zone, focusing on Moshi and surrounding districts. This role involves identifying market opportunities, building strategic relationships with farmers, distributors, and government agencies, and driving sales of seed varieties, crop protection products, and digital solutions. The manager will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including research, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure product offerings meet local needs and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for the northern agricultural market.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders such as farmer cooperatives, agronomists, and government bodies.
• Conduct market analysis to uncover trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
• Collaborate with product development teams to tailor Bayer solutions to local agronomic challenges.
• Lead negotiations and close sales agreements for seeds, crop protection chemicals, and digital farming platforms.
• Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline health, and forecast accuracy.
• Represent Bayer at industry conferences, field days, and community events to enhance brand visibility.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian agricultural regulations and Bayer’s internal policies.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Tanzanian agricultural practices, especially in high‑altitude crops such as coffee and tea.
• Proven track record in B2B sales and partnership development within the agribusiness sector.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with fluency in English and Swahili.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in market research and data‑driven decision making.
• Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional projects.
• Negotiation skills and experience managing complex contracts.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in agronomy, crop science, or business development are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years of relevant experience in agribusiness development, sales, or market expansion, preferably within East Africa. Experience working with multinational agricultural firms is highly valued.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and performance. The package includes performance‑based incentives, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
