Job Overview

The Construction Project Controls Engineer will join the Project Management Office (PMO) to lead cost, schedule, and performance monitoring for large‑scale construction projects in the Lake Victoria region. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project control plans, including cost estimating, budgeting, and scheduling frameworks.
  • Maintain and update Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to track project performance against baseline.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, variance analyses, and forecast updates for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate data flow and alignment of project objectives.
  • Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Support contract administration by reviewing change orders and ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
  • Utilise industry‑standard software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and SAP for data integration and reporting.

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in cost control and schedule management.
  • Advanced knowledge of project control software (Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP).
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to non‑technical stakeholders.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized Project Controls qualification are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in project controls within the construction industry, preferably on large‑scale infrastructure or commercial projects. Experience working in East Africa or on multinational project teams will be considered an advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and pension contributions.
