Job Overview

The Corporate Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of integrated communication strategies that enhance Tigo’s brand image, support business objectives and foster positive relationships with media, regulators, investors and the public. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive corporate communication plans aligned with business goals.
  • Manage media relations, including press releases, briefings, interviews and crisis communications.
  • Oversee internal communication initiatives to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing department to ensure brand consistency across advertising and digital platforms.
  • Lead the creation of thought‑leadership content such as whitepapers, speeches and executive articles.
  • Monitor public perception and media coverage, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Prepare communication materials for regulatory bodies, investors and community stakeholders.
  • Supervise external agencies and vendors, ensuring quality and cost‑effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Proven ability to craft clear, persuasive messages for varied audiences.
  • Strong media networking and relationship‑building capabilities.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APR, CIM) are considered an advantage and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations or media affairs, preferably within the telecommunications or technology sector. Experience managing large‑scale campaigns and handling high‑visibility issues is essential.

Salary

Tigo offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with performance‑based incentives.
