Job Overview
The Credit Risk Analyst will play a pivotal role in assessing creditworthiness, monitoring portfolio performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Working closely with the Risk Management Department, the analyst will provide data‑driven insights to support lending decisions and mitigate potential losses. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive credit assessments for corporate and SME loan applications.
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and market trends to determine credit risk.
- Prepare detailed risk rating reports and present findings to senior management.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios, identify early warning signals, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to Basel III and local regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with relationship managers to structure appropriate credit facilities.
- Maintain and enhance credit risk models using statistical tools.
- Participate in periodic stress‑testing exercises and risk reporting.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with proficiency in Excel and statistical software.
- In‑depth knowledge of credit risk frameworks and banking regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data analysis.
- Proficiency in English; Swahili fluency is an advantage.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or equivalent are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in credit risk management.
Experience
Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of proven experience in credit risk analysis within a banking or financial services environment. Experience with loan underwriting, risk rating systems, and regulatory compliance will be considered essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based incentives aligned with the bank’s objectives.
