Job Overview
The Credit Risk Modeling Analyst will play a pivotal role in developing, validating, and maintaining quantitative models that assess credit risk across the bank’s loan portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Credit Risk Analytics, the analyst will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure models are accurate, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with the bank’s risk appetite. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence credit policy, enhance risk assessment capabilities, and contribute to the bank’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement statistical and machine‑learning models for credit risk assessment, including PD, LGD, and EAD estimates.
- Conduct model validation, back‑testing, and performance monitoring to ensure predictive accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with credit officers, data engineers, and business analysts to gather data requirements and integrate model outputs into credit decision processes.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, model governance reports, and presentations for senior management and regulators.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging methodologies, and regulatory changes affecting credit risk modeling.
- Support the development of stress‑testing scenarios and portfolio risk analytics.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R, Python, or SAS.
- Experience with SQL and data manipulation in large relational databases.
- Deep understanding of credit risk concepts, Basel III/IV requirements, and model risk management frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative skills.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex model results to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or PRM are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in credit risk modeling, financial analytics, or a related quantitative role within the banking or financial services industry. Prior exposure to regulatory reporting and model validation processes is essential.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and other incentives are part of the total compensation package.
