Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Fleet Supervisor to join our growing operations team in Shinyanga. This role is critical to our regional success, as you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our transport fleet, ensuring optimal vehicle utilization, and managing driver performance. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of service delivery and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily movement of the transport fleet to ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.
- Manage and train a team of drivers to uphold company standards and safety protocols.
- Analyze fuel consumption and route efficiency to optimize operational costs.
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicle inspections, repairs, and driver activities.
- Ensure all transport activities comply with Tanzanian road safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Fleet Management Systems (FMS) and GPS tracking technology.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle logistical emergencies.
- In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian transport laws and logistics regulations.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Swahili.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification in Fleet Management or Logistics is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must demonstrate at least five years of experience in fleet supervision or logistics operations, preferably within a large-scale transport company. Proven experience in managing driver teams and optimizing vehicle routes is essential for success in this role.
