Job Overview
Orsted Tanzania seeks a Geothermal Energy Project Manager to lead the development of a 150MW geothermal power plant in Dodoma. This role will oversee site assessments, stakeholder engagement, and technical execution of geothermal energy solutions. The position offers opportunities to contribute to Tanzania’s renewable energy goals while working with cutting-edge geothermal technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end geothermal project lifecycle from feasibility studies to commissioning
- Coordinate with geological survey teams for site assessments and resource mapping
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
- Engage with local communities and government agencies for permits and partnerships
- Supervise drilling operations and geothermal power plant construction
- Ensure compliance with international geothermal energy standards
Required Skills
- Proven experience in geothermal energy project management
- Technical expertise in geothermal resource assessment
- Strong leadership and cross-functional team coordination abilities
- Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera)
- Excellent stakeholder communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of Tanzanian energy sector regulations
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- Master’s degree preferred (Geothermal Engineering, Sustainable Energy)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years managing geothermal or renewable energy projects
- Experience in East African energy markets is advantageous
Salary
800,000 – 1,200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
