Job Overview

Ballard Power Systems Tanzania is seeking a Hydrogen Fuel Cell Engineer to design, optimize, and implement hydrogen fuel cell systems tailored to Tanzania’s energy infrastructure. This position will focus on integrating hydrogen technology into existing energy grids while ensuring compliance with international safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hydrogen fuel cell systems for industrial and transportation applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hydrogen technology into existing energy infrastructure.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for hydrogen energy projects.
  • Ensure compliance with international safety, environmental, and technical standards.
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing, and maintenance of hydrogen systems.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in hydrogen fuel cell engineering or related energy systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on sustainable energy solutions.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and energy modeling tools.
  • Excellent project management and team collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge of Tanzanian energy regulations and sustainability frameworks.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Energy Systems or Sustainable Technology preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in hydrogen energy systems or renewable energy engineering.
  • Experience in East African energy markets is a significant advantage.

Salary

3,500,000 – 4,500,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
