Key Responsibilities

• Conduct biodiversity surveys and ecological assessments in high-altitude habitats
• Collect, analyze, and report data on species distribution, population trends, and habitat health
• Collaborate with local communities to implement conservation education programs
• Develop and maintain monitoring protocols aligned with international conservation standards
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and funding partners
• Coordinate with government agencies and NGOs on conservation initiatives

Required Skills

• Expertise in field data collection techniques and GIS mapping
• Proficiency in using biodiversity monitoring software (e.g., eBird, Darwin Core)
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting ecological data
• Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration abilities

• Knowledge of Tanzanian biodiversity and conservation policies

Education

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in biodiversity monitoring, conservation research, or environmental fieldwork. Prior experience in high-altitude ecosystems or avian species monitoring is highly advantageous.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 Tanzanian Shillings annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
