Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join our team in Mbeya, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing sustainable agriculture projects that promote environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and economic viability.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement sustainable agriculture projects that promote environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and economic viability.

Work with smallholder farmers and their families to improve their livelihoods through training, capacity building, and access to markets.

Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and private sector partners.

Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.

Collaborate with Heifer International’s global team to share best practices and lessons learned.

Required Skills

Master’s degree in Agriculture or related field.

5-7 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, project management, or a related field.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a team environment and build strong relationships with local stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field.
