We are seeking an experienced Environmental Economist to join our team in Mbeya. The successful candidate will work closely with our conservation program team to design and implement economic analysis and policy recommendations to support conservation efforts.
Job Overview
The Environmental Economist will be responsible for conducting economic analysis and policy research to support conservation efforts in the Southern Highlands. This will involve working closely with our conservation program team to design and implement economic analysis and policy recommendations to support conservation efforts.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental economics, with experience in conducting economic analysis and policy research. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The position is based in Mbeya, Tanzania, and will involve frequent travel to project sites in the Southern Highlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct economic analysis and policy research to support conservation efforts in the Southern Highlands
- Design and implement economic models to estimate the economic benefits of conservation efforts
- Develop policy recommendations to support conservation efforts
- Work closely with our conservation program team to design and implement conservation projects
- Conduct stakeholder engagement and outreach to promote conservation efforts
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Economics or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in environmental economics, with a focus on conservation and sustainable development
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
