Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Economist to join our team in Morogoro, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing the economic impacts of environmental policies and projects, and for developing and implementing strategies to promote sustainable development.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading environmental organization and to contribute to the conservation of Tanzania’s natural resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct economic analyses of environmental policies and projects
- Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainable development
- Work with government agencies, businesses, and local communities to achieve conservation goals
- Develop and manage budgets and project plans
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve organizational goals
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Economics or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in environmental economics or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Education
The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Economics or a related field. A Ph.D. in Environmental Economics or a related field is an asset.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in environmental economics or a related field. Experience working in a developing country is an asset.
Salary
The salary for this position is 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
