Job Overview

The Education Program Analyst will support the design, implementation, and evaluation of education initiatives in the Tanga region. Reporting to the Senior Education Specialist, the analyst will conduct rigorous data analysis, prepare policy briefs, and coordinate with local stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. This role is critical for translating World Bank standards into actionable plans that align with Tanzania’s national education policies and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, government officials, and civil society organizations to monitor progress, identify challenges, and recommend evidence‑based solutions. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence education reform at both the regional and national levels while gaining exposure to international development best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from schools, ministries, and partner organizations.
• Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks for education projects, ensuring alignment with World Bank guidelines.
• Prepare detailed reports, policy briefs, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the design of curriculum improvement pilots, teacher training modules, and learning assessment tools.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and community engagement sessions to gather feedback and promote project ownership.
• Track project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, providing regular updates to senior management.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure project sustainability.
• Collaborate with the research team to produce evidence‑based recommendations for scaling successful interventions.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA, SPSS, R) and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English; proficiency in Swahili is highly desirable.
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of education programs.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with government officials, NGOs, and community leaders.
• Knowledge of Tanzania’s education policy framework and the SDGs.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Economics, Public Policy, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in Monitoring & Evaluation, Project Management, or Data Analysis will be considered an advantage.

Experience

Applicants should have 3–5 years of professional experience in education program analysis, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields within the development sector. Experience working in Tanzania or East Africa, particularly in the Tanga region, is highly preferred.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 1,500,000 to SSP 2,500,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits are outlined below.
