Job Overview
The Industrial Automation Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions for GE Tanzania’s energy assets. This position focuses on integrating programmable logic controllers (PLCs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and advanced analytics to optimize plant performance, enhance safety, and reduce operational costs. The successful candidate will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and operations staff, to deliver reliable and scalable automation architectures.

Key Responsibilities

- Ability to interpret and develop P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control narratives.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with IIoT technologies, cloud integration, and cybersecurity best practices.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or Siemens S7 programming credentials are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in industrial automation within the energy sector or large‑scale manufacturing environments. Proven track record of delivering automation projects from concept through commissioning is essential.
Salary
