Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Network Planning Engineer to design, optimize, and expand our mobile and broadband infrastructure. This role will focus on strategic network planning, capacity forecasting, and ensuring seamless service delivery across Dodoma and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, leveraging cutting‑edge tools and industry best practices to support Vodacom’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed network design plans for 4G/5G and fiber deployments.
• Conduct capacity analysis, traffic forecasting, and performance modeling.
• Coordinate with RF, transmission, and core teams to ensure integrated solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and project timelines.
• Support site acquisition, permitting, and regulatory compliance processes.
• Participate in network optimization initiatives to improve coverage and quality of service.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of LTE/5G architecture, RF planning, and fiber optics.
• Proficiency with planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or Mentum.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications (e.g., Cisco, Nokia, Ericsson) are a plus.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in telecom network planning, preferably with exposure to both radio and fiber networks.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
