Job Overview

The Credit Analyst will play a pivotal role in assessing creditworthiness of corporate and SME clients, conducting thorough financial analysis, and providing risk‑adjusted recommendations to the Credit Committee. This position reports to the Credit Risk Manager and collaborates closely with relationship managers, product specialists and senior management to ensure sound lending decisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and market trends to evaluate borrower credit risk.
  • Prepare detailed credit proposals, including risk rating, loan structure, and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct industry and sector research to support credit decisions and monitor macro‑economic developments affecting borrowers.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers to gather necessary documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the Credit Committee and senior management.
  • Monitor existing loan portfolios, identify early warning signals, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records in the bank’s credit risk management system.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; familiarity with credit risk software is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory guidelines and apply them in practice.
  • Team‑player mindset with strong interpersonal skills.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or ACCA are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.

Experience

Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience in credit analysis, loan underwriting, or financial advisory within a banking or financial services environment. Experience in the Tanzanian market or East African region is highly valued.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications and performance. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and other incentives aligned with the bank’s results‑driven culture.
