Job Overview

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of Caterpillar’s heavy machinery at client sites throughout the Southern Highlands, including cross‑border projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on‑site installation, assembly, and commissioning of Caterpillar equipment according to manufacturer specifications.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, providing timely corrective actions and parts replacement.
  • Document service reports, maintenance logs, and technical findings in Caterpillar’s digital system.
  • Train client operators and maintenance personnel on safe operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborate with the regional parts and service teams to ensure availability of spare parts and technical resources.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on experience in heavy equipment maintenance.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as Caterpillar Service Technician Training, ISO 9001, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in field service engineering for construction or mining equipment, with a track record of successful installations and maintenance projects. Experience working in remote or challenging environments is an advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,000,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes performance‑based incentives, allowances for travel and accommodation, and a comprehensive benefits suite.
