Job Overview
The Hotel Operations Manager will oversee all operational aspects of the Hilton Arusha property, ensuring seamless guest experiences, optimal financial performance, and adherence to brand standards. This role requires strategic leadership, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of hospitality operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with department heads, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold Hilton’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance, to achieve guest satisfaction targets.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor financial KPIs, and implement cost‑control measures.
- Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, health and safety regulations, and local hospitality laws.
- Mentor and coach department managers, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Analyze guest feedback and market trends to implement service enhancements and drive revenue growth.
- Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to optimize occupancy rates and promotional activities.
- Oversee procurement processes, vendor relationships, and inventory management to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Implement sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and community outreach programs.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and people‑management abilities with a focus on employee development.
- Excellent financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Proven problem‑solving skills and the ability to make data‑driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with guests, staff, and stakeholders.
- In‑depth knowledge of hospitality software systems (e.g., Opera, OnQ).
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high service standards.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) or equivalent are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five years in progressive hotel operations roles, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a full‑service hotel environment.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the total rewards structure.
