Senior Financial Accountant – Telecommunications Finance

Job Description

Vodacom Tanzania is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant – Telecommunications Finance to support financial operations for the Mwanza regional office. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal accounting policies.

This role plays a crucial part in supporting financial transparency, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making within the organization. The Senior Financial Accountant will work closely with finance managers, auditors, and operational departments to ensure financial data integrity and effective financial planning.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an in-depth understanding of accounting standards, and the ability to manage financial reporting processes in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards

Maintain accurate general ledger accounting records and journal entries

Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable operations

Support budget preparation and financial forecasting activities

Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements

Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting

Assist in internal and external audit processes

Monitor cash flow management and financial transactions

Implement effective internal financial controls and compliance procedures

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Experience using ERP accounting systems and financial software

Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills

Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Ability to interpret financial data to support business decisions
