Job Overview

Deloitte Tanzania is seeking a dynamic Data Privacy Officer to lead compliance initiatives and ensure adherence to national and international data protection regulations. This role is critical in safeguarding sensitive client and organizational data while promoting a culture of cybersecurity awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data privacy policies aligned with Tanzania’s Data Protection Act and GDPR standards.
  • Conduct audits to identify data handling risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT and legal teams to ensure secure data storage, processing, and transmission.
  • Provide training to employees on data privacy best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor emerging data protection trends and regulatory changes to maintain proactive compliance.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in data privacy frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in data mapping and incident response protocols.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Preferred certifications: CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional), CISSP.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or cybersecurity roles.
  • Experience working in multinational organizations or regulated industries.

Salary

2,500,000 – 3,500,000 TZS per month, commensurate with experience.
