Job Overview
This role is part of Syngenta’s global initiative to integrate climate-smart agricultural practices into local farming systems. The Sustainable Agriculture Innovation Specialist will lead projects that combine digital tools, soil health management, and water conservation techniques to enhance productivity while preserving natural resources. The position requires collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and local farming communities to implement scalable solutions tailored to Tanzania’s unique agro-ecological zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute sustainable agriculture projects aligned with Syngenta’s global sustainability goals
- Conduct field research on crop resilience, soil fertility, and water efficiency in Tanzanian farming systems
- Develop training programs for farmers on climate-smart agricultural practices
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify and address agricultural challenges
- Monitor and report on project impact using data analytics tools
- Represent Syngenta at agricultural conferences and policy forums
Required Skills
- Expertise in sustainable agriculture methodologies and technologies
- Strong project management and cross-sector collaboration abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with Tanzanian agricultural policies and regulations
- Fluency in Swahili and English

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science, Environmental Studies, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
Experience

Salary
3,000,000 – 4,500,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
