Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Iringa, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to our mining operations and ensuring the safe and efficient extraction of minerals.
The Geotechnical Engineer will work closely with our mining team to develop and implement geotechnical solutions that meet our business objectives. This will involve conducting site investigations, analyzing data, and developing recommendations for mine planning and design.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering and experience working in a mining environment. They will be a team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site investigations and collect data to inform geotechnical design and planning
- Develop and implement geotechnical solutions to support mine planning and design
- Collaborate with the mining team to ensure safe and efficient extraction of minerals
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in geotechnical engineering
Required Skills
- Strong background in geotechnical engineering
- Experience working in a mining environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and technical skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field from a recognized university
Experience
8-12 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a mining environment
