Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal counsel to corporate clients on a wide range of commercial and regulatory issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including joint venture agreements and mergers and acquisitions documentation.
- Represent the firm and its clients in various legal proceedings, including litigation and arbitration.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support complex legal opinions and strategic advice.
- Monitor changes in Tanzanian laws and regulations to ensure client compliance.
- Manage and mentor junior legal associates and paralegals within the firm.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve legal disputes efficiently.

- In-depth knowledge of the Companies Act and Tanzanian commercial regulations.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.

Education
A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university is mandatory. Candidates must also hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania. Professional certification and membership in the Tanganyika Law Society are required for this position.
Experience
Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of seven years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm or a large corporate legal department. Proven experience in handling commercial litigation and complex corporate transactions is essential for success in this role.
