Job Overview
The Pharmaceutical Sales Manager will lead the sales operations for Pfizer’s portfolio of prescription medicines in Zanzibar. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement territory sales plans aligned with corporate objectives and local market dynamics.
- Identify, engage, and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders, physicians, pharmacists, and hospital administrators.
- Conduct product presentations, scientific briefings, and training sessions for healthcare professionals.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to adjust strategies proactively.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets while maintaining high standards of ethical conduct and compliance.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and pipeline analyses for senior management.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless product availability.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities with a proven track record of influencing healthcare decision‑makers.
- Deep understanding of the Tanzanian pharmaceutical market, especially in Zanzibar.
- Analytical mindset to interpret sales data and translate insights into actionable plans.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel frequently across the island and maintain a flexible schedule.
- High ethical standards and commitment to compliance with local and international regulations.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in sales management, healthcare marketing, or regulatory affairs are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants must possess a minimum of five years of progressive sales experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector, preferably covering East African markets. Demonstrated success in managing a sales team or leading large accounts will be considered a strong asset.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and performance. A performance‑based bonus structure and incentive schemes are also part of the total rewards.
