Job Overview
The Vehicle Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all Toyota vehicles produced and assembled in Tanzania meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and execute comprehensive quality assurance plans for vehicle assembly lines.
- Conduct functional, durability, and safety tests on prototypes and production models.
- Analyze test data, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply‑chain teams to ensure compliance with Toyota’s global quality standards.
- Perform regular audits of suppliers and internal processes to verify adherence to specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of test results, inspection reports, and quality metrics.
- Provide technical guidance and training to production staff on quality best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive engineering principles and quality standards (ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and quality management software.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of three to five years of hands‑on experience in vehicle quality assurance, testing, or a similar engineering role within the automotive industry. Experience with global automotive manufacturers or Tier‑1 suppliers will be viewed favorably.
