Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive process audits to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and safety concerns.
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives to improve throughput and reduce cycle times.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to design and execute pilot projects.
• Analyze production data using statistical tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, yield, and scrap rates.
• Prepare detailed project reports, cost‑benefit analyses, and recommendations for senior management.
• Lead training sessions for plant personnel on best practices and new process standards.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations throughout all improvement activities.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with proficiency in statistical software (Minitab, JMP, or similar).
• In‑depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodology, and continuous improvement tools.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.
• Familiarity with cement manufacturing processes, equipment, and material handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of three to five years of hands‑on experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or production engineering within a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in the cement or construction materials industry is preferred but not mandatory.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of 2,000,000 to 3,500,000 Tanzanian Shillings (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based incentives and annual bonuses are part of the total compensation package.
