Job Overview

The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising geotechnical investigations and stability analyses for mining infrastructure and expansion projects. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and laboratory testing.
• Perform slope stability, rock mechanics, and foundation analyses for mine structures, tailings facilities, and processing plants.
• Develop and review geotechnical design reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions into overall project designs.
• Monitor and assess ground conditions during construction and operation, providing real‑time recommendations to mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian mining regulations, international standards, and company safety policies.
• Prepare technical presentations for senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

Education

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in geotechnical engineering within the mining sector or large‑scale civil projects. Experience with underground mining operations, open‑pit slope stability, and tailings dam design is strongly preferred.

Salary
