Job Overview

The Cloud Solutions Architect will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high‑performance cloud solutions for Microsoft’s enterprise customers in Tanzania and the broader East African region. Key Responsibilities

  • Design end‑to‑end Azure solutions that meet customer business objectives, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS components.
  • Conduct technical workshops, proof‑of‑concepts, and architecture reviews with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop migration strategies, cost‑optimization plans, and security frameworks tailored to each engagement.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft’s sales teams to identify opportunities, craft solution proposals, and support bid processes.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior architects and engineers.
  • Stay current with Azure services, industry trends, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance solution offerings.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, security, and governance.
  • Strong understanding of cloud‑native design patterns, microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM templates.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance, reliability, and security issues.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Education

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent are strongly preferred and demonstrate a commitment to technical excellence.

Experience

Candidates must have at least five years of hands‑on experience designing and delivering enterprise‑grade cloud solutions on Azure. Prior experience in consulting, system integration, or a technology services environment is advantageous, as is a track record of successful cloud migrations and digital transformation initiatives.

Salary
