Job Overview
This role involves creating and managing unique cultural tourism experiences that blend storytelling, heritage preservation, and guest engagement. The ideal candidate will collaborate with local communities, historians, and tourism operators to develop itineraries that highlight Tabora’s historical significance and cultural diversity. The position emphasizes sustainability, ensuring tourism initiatives benefit local economies while respecting traditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cultural tourism programs that showcase Tabora’s heritage sites and traditions.
- Collaborate with local guides, historians, and community leaders to co-create authentic guest experiences.
- Develop educational content and narratives for travelers, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and historical accuracy.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of tourism activities on local communities and environments.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to promote cultural tourism offerings through digital and print platforms.
Required Skills
- Expertise in cultural tourism planning and event design.
- Strong project management and cross-cultural communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using GIS or mapping tools for heritage site analysis.
- Creative problem-solving and adaptability in dynamic environments.
- Fluency in Swahili and English.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Cultural Studies, Anthropology, or related field.
- Advanced degree or certification in Sustainable Tourism preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in tourism experience design or cultural heritage management.
- Proven track record in developing community-based tourism initiatives.
Salary
An annual salary between 3,500,000 and 5,500,000 TSH, commensurate with experience and achievements.
