Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Anthropologist to join our team in Tunduru, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research and analysis on the environmental and cultural impacts of our humanitarian programs in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on the environmental and cultural impacts of our humanitarian programs in the region
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of our programs on the environment and local communities
• Collaborate with local stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders and other humanitarian organizations
• Develop and maintain relationships with local partners and stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of our humanitarian programs and policies

Required Skills

• Master’s degree in Anthropology or a related field
• 8-12 years of experience in environmental anthropology or a related field
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Fluency in English and Swahili

Education

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Anthropology or a related field. A Ph.D. in Anthropology or a related field is an asset.

Experience

The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in environmental anthropology or a related field. Experience working in a humanitarian organization is an asset.

Salary

The salary for this position is 500,000 – 700,000 SSP per year, depending on experience.
