Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Conservation Officer to join our team in Tanga, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing conservation projects, working with local communities, and contributing to the development of our conservation strategy in the region.

The position will involve:

  • Conducting fieldwork to monitor and assess the status of wildlife populations and their habitats
  • Developing and implementing conservation plans and projects with local communities
  • Collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to advance conservation goals
  • Providing training and capacity-building support to local communities and conservation staff

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement conservation projects and programs in collaboration with local communities and other stakeholders

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in conservation, preferably in a developing country
  • Proven track record of implementing conservation projects and programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with local communities and other stakeholders
