Job Overview
The Environmental Conservationist will play a key role in our conservation efforts in Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing conservation projects, working with local communities, and collaborating with other stakeholders to achieve our goals.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to the protection of Tanzania’s natural heritage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement conservation projects in Tanzania, including habitat restoration, species conservation, and community engagement.
- Work with local communities to develop and implement conservation plans that benefit both people and the environment.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local organizations, to achieve our conservation goals.
- Conduct fieldwork, including surveys, monitoring, and research, to inform conservation decisions.
- Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other documents to track project progress and outcomes.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in conservation, environmental management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful conservation projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with local communities, stakeholders, and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform conservation decisions.
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, combined with significant experience, may also be considered.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in conservation, environmental management, or a related field. This experience should include developing and implementing conservation projects, working with local communities, and collaborating with other stakeholders.
Salary
The salary for this position is 150,000 – 250,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
