Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Geologist to join our team in Bukoba, Tanzania.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments, developing and implementing environmental management plans, and providing technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders on environmental issues.
The position is based in Bukoba, Tanzania and requires frequent travel to other parts of the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop environmental management plans
- Provide technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders on environmental issues
- Develop and implement environmental monitoring and reporting systems
- Collaborate with other UN agencies and partners to advance environmental conservation efforts
- Develop and implement training programs for government officials and other stakeholders on environmental issues
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Geology or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in environmental geology or a related field
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other stakeholders
Education
The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in Environmental Geology or a related field from a recognized university.
Experience
The successful candidate must have at least 8 years of experience in environmental geology or a related field, with a strong background in environmental impact assessments, environmental management plans, and technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders.
Salary
The salary for this position is 500,000 – 700,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
